WEATHER:  

Outlook forecast to be wetter than of late.The Met Office have issued an Amber Warning for the Watford area, heavy rain expected from 21:00 Wednesday 4th until 09:00 Thursday 05th. Temperatures dropping to 19° for these two days before rising to mid to low 20's for the rest of the week. Remember, forecasts change frequently. Always check  the local weather outlook before any planned fishing sessions so you are well prepared.

OUTLOOK: Wednesday,  19°/12°, heavy rain, Thursday, 19°/13°,  heavy rain, Friday, 23°/11°, showers, Saturday, 24°/15°, sunny intervals, Sunday, 22°/13°,  showers,  Monday, 22°/13°, light rain, Tuesday, 20°/10°, sunny intervals.

CLUB SURVEY AND FUTURE MEMBERS CLUB INFORMATION EMAILS:

It was highlighted in the recent poll we carried out that there may be compatibility issues between our bulk emails to members and your Gmail email account (and some other accounts also). To help rectify this issue can we ask each of you to add or accept @watfordpiscators.co.uk as a safe sender. Changing this setting in your email account at your end will help to ensure you receive all future email messages from the club.

CATCH REPORT: August 2024

CASTLES: Always alive with several catches of Carp up to 11lb. Plenty of  Skimmers, Perch, Roach, Gudgeon, Rudd, Bream and Crucian Carp.

TOLPITS:A very good month again with several Carp up to 32lb. The One Eyed Common has been out on 3 separate occasions. Several other Carp in the upper and lower doubles have also been caught. Many Bream up to 10.7lb. A few Tench up to 8lb and several Perch on worms and maggots. Roach, Rudd and plenty of other Silvers.

THURLOWS:Fishing very well on and off, with several Carp up to 32lb. Tench up to 6.6lb, Bream up to 7lb, also some nice Perch caught on worms. Plenty of other Silver Fish also caught.

STANLEYS:Fishing extremely well, with lots of good catches of Carp coming out up to 24.4lb. Many Bream up to 7.4lb, Some Tench, Perch and many other Silvers.RIVER: Some catches of small Perch and Jack Pike caught on small lures and on dropshot.

PLEASE NOTE: Where ever you decide to fish, especially on Our Complex, make sure you Dip all Nets, Slings, Mats and Cradles before you fish and again if you change Lakes before you fish and  always make sure you carry with you and use, Hand Sanitizer to protect yourself.

* Sunday 29th September - Thurlows Lake -  Championship Leg 6 and Graham Gooch Trophy - Draw Stanleys Car Park 08:00 - 08:15 - Fish from 09:30 - 14:30.

NOTE: YOU don't have to be a regular match fisher to take part, you can choose one or as many matches as you want to take part in. Who knows you might enjoy the experience and become a regular Match Fisher! Why not give it a try!

WORK PARTIES:

There are jobs to suit all and Your help will make Our Complex even better. So if you can spare any time to help please do.Should you be unable to carry out a Work Party at weekends contact Ron your Water Management Chairman 07445 975001 who may be able to arrange a Work Party during the week.Water Management Chairman

WATER MANAGEMENT:

Should any member have access to used scaffold poles that can be used for repairs around Our Complex please contact,  Ron, your Water Management Chairman, 07445 975001, it will be greatly appreciated.

GUEST PERMITS:Guest Permits, as well as from Harefield Tackle, Guest Permits can be purchased from Your Water Management Chairman, Ron Westwood, Mobile: 07445 975001. Please note as per Rule: 13.1 A Guest Permit must be obtained before entering the societies fisheries. Day Permit  £10.  24 hour Permit , £25 and 48 hour Permit, £45,  for Tolpits, Thurlows and Stanleys, Permits are available, from the 1st November - 14th March inclusive each season. Available to Senior Members only,  minimum 18 years old, the guest shall share  the same swim or be in an adjacent swim to the member.
